# How long does it take to have a website made?

Building a small business website is not the part that takes long. Most of the time goes into waiting: for text, for photos and for access to the domain. Knowing that, you can make the process a lot shorter yourself.

## How long does each step take?

With us the first version is there within 12 hours. How long it takes after that mainly depends on how quickly the text, the photos and access to the domain are available.

## Step 1: a first version

With us it starts with a preview: a first version of your new site, made with the text, logo and photos from your current site. Within 12 hours you get a link you can view on your phone and computer. You don't need to supply anything for it.

## Step 2: finishing

Then comes the part where it's your turn. Is the text still right? Which services should be added, which can go? Are there better photos? The faster those answers arrive, the sooner the site is finished. This is usually the part that takes longest.

## Step 3: going live

To put the site on your own domain name, someone needs access to the domain's settings. If that login is lost, or your previous builder manages the domain, you wait for someone else. The change itself is then usually visible everywhere within a few hours.

## What can you prepare in advance?

Five things: the login for your domain, your logo, photos of your work, a list of what you do and your details.

- **The login for your domain**, or the name of the company that manages it.
- **Your logo** as a separate file, preferably in a large version.

- **Photos of your own work**, in their original size. Ten good photos are enough.
- **A list of what you do** and for whom, in your own words. It doesn't need to be well written.

- **Your details:** address, phone number, opening hours, KvK number.

## What makes it take longer?

More work and more people involved in decisions. An online shop, an integration with another system or many pages with their own text need more work than a one-page site. The same applies when several people have to have a say: every round takes days. So agree who has the final word.
