# Mail on iPhone and iPad: setting up your email

For iOS and iPadOS 18 and newer (Mail is under Apps). You need your email address and the password of your mailbox; everything else is below.

## Open the mail accounts

Open Settings, scroll down and tap Apps, then Mail and Mail Accounts.

## Add an account

Tap Add Account, then Other and Add Mail Account.

## Enter name, address and password

Name: as recipients see it. Email: your full email address. Password: the one for your mailbox. Description: for example the name of your business. Tap Next.

## Enter the servers

Choose IMAP at the top. Incoming mail server: host name imap.migadu.com, username your full email address, your password. Outgoing mail server: host name smtp.migadu.com, again your full email address and your password. Fill them in for the outgoing server too, even though it says "optional". Tap Next.

## Save

Leave Mail on and tap Save. Your iPhone chooses the ports itself.

- **Username:** your full email address, for both incoming and outgoing.
- **Password:** the password of your mailbox. We don't know it; if you have lost it, we send you a link to choose a new one.

- **Account type:** IMAP. Then you see the same folders and messages on every device.
- **Webmail:** without setting anything up you can also read and send your email at [webmail.modexsoftware.nl](https://webmail.modexsoftware.nl). Log in with your full email address and your password; leave the field for the verification code empty.

Buttons sometimes have slightly different names per version than here; the details you fill in are always the same. If it doesn't work, first check that your password is right by logging in to the [webmail](https://webmail.modexsoftware.nl).
