# What is included in the monthly fee?

The monthly fee is not just for hosting. We also look after your site and change it when you ask.

## This is included

- **Hosting.** Your site is online on your own domain name.
- **Domain name.** One .nl domain name is included, in your name. If you cancel, you take it with you.

- **SSL certificate.** The padlock in the address bar, without you having to think about it.
- **Backups.** A copy of your site in case something goes wrong.

- **Updates.** We do the security and technical updates.
- **Changes.** New text, photos and opening hours, or a different layout of a page.

- **Quick replies.** We respond to a question or a change within 12 hours.
- **Email on your domain.** Addresses such as info@yourbusiness.nl, forwarded to your own mailbox.

## This is not included

- A completely new design
- Pages beyond your package (possible: you then pay the difference with the bigger package)

- Your own mailbox to send from your domain: that is an [email package](#mail), from €3 per month

For work that is not covered, we always agree a price in advance.

## Add your own mailbox

Forwarding to a mailbox you already have is included in the monthly fee. If you also want to send from your own domain, add an email package. That works with every website package: a Start site with Mail Pro is fine, and the other way round too.

Per month, excl. VAT. If you pay in advance, you pay the whole period in one go, just like hosting and maintenance.

- **Only with hosting and maintenance.** An email package goes with a site that runs on our hosting. Monthly means you can cancel any month; prepaid runs for that period.
- **Fair use, no hard limit.** The number of addresses and the storage are guidelines. If you go over them now and then, we don't lock anything. If we see something unusual, such as a mailbox filling up fast or a striking amount of sent mail, we contact you and look for a solution together.

- **We move your email for free.** Your old messages come along, if your current mailbox supports IMAP. We don't move email from Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
- **Help from us, not from a helpdesk.** A new address, a forgotten password or setting it up on your phone: you email or WhatsApp us. You can also set it up yourself with the [guides for each email app](https://modexsoftware.nl/en/guides/email-setup/).

- **If you cancel, you don't lose your email.** You keep access for 30 days and we help you move the mailbox to another provider.

## Frequently asked questions

**How many changes can I ask for?**

Small changes are included in the monthly fee: a new text, photo or opening time, or a different layout of a page. You email it, we change it. A completely new design or pages beyond your package are not covered; for those we agree a price in advance.

**Can I cancel monthly?**

If you pay monthly, you can cancel any month. If you pay 1 or 3 years in advance, the hosting runs for that period; after that you choose again: monthly or in advance again with a discount.

**What do I get if I cancel?**

Your complete website as a zip file, so you can host it elsewhere yourself. After that we make no more changes and no more updates. A contact form that sends through us does not automatically work at another host; call and email buttons do. For an online shop we agree the handover separately.

**Is email included?**

We set up email addresses on your own domain that forward to a mailbox you already have, at no extra cost. If you also want to send from that address, add an email package: Mail Start (up to 3 addresses, 5 GB) for €3 per month, Mail Plus (up to 10 addresses, 10 GB) for €8 per month, Mail Pro (up to 25 addresses, 25 GB) for €16 per month, excl. VAT.

**Do you move my existing email?**

Yes, for free, if your current mailbox supports IMAP: then your old messages and folders come along. We don't move email from Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace; if you want to stay there, we only set up the settings on your domain correctly.

**Why a discount if I pay in advance?**

Our sites are light and cheap to host, and paying in advance saves us administration. We pass that saving on: about 25% off for 1 year and about 40% for 3 years.
